How it works

Fifteen minutes, thirty-two questions, one honest number

No booking, no proctor, no small talk. Pick a category, answer what you know, skip what you don't, and walk away with a CEFR band you can actually explain.

  1. Pick what to measure

General level mixes grammar, vocabulary and reading. Or narrow it to just Grammar, just Vocabulary, or Business English if that's the register you actually need.

    • No sign-up required
    • Retake anytime
    • Same test, four scopes
  2. Answer one question at a time

Multiple choice and fill-in-the-blank questions, one at a time, with no per-question timer. Skip what you're unsure of and come back to it before you finish.

    • No timer per question
    • Skip and come back
    • Back button always works
  3. Get a level, a score and the mistakes

When you finish, you get a CEFR band, a score out of 100, and a skill breakdown across grammar, vocabulary and reading — plus every question you got wrong, with the correct answer and why.

    • CEFR band A1–C2
    • Numeric score /100
    • Full mistake breakdown

Still just fifteen minutes.

No sign-up, no timer, and the same test whichever category you pick.

Honest answers
Is this an official exam?
No. my-level.in gives you a fast, honest estimate of your CEFR band — not a certificate recognised by universities or employers. Think of it as a compass, not a diploma.
Why is it free?
Because a level check shouldn't be a paywall. We'd rather you use it and tell a friend than pay to find out where you stand.
Does it test speaking?
Not yet. Right now it covers grammar, vocabulary and reading. Speaking and listening are on the roadmap, not live.
Can I retake it?
Yes, anytime. Scores can shift by a few points between attempts — that's normal. Retake after real practice, not right after the first try.
